It’s a very special day at Newhaven Park as BURST (Marauding x Sudden) turns 30!
Born on this day in 1989, Burst went on to become Champion Race Filly after winning the ‘Grand Slam’ in 1992 – the G1 Golden Slipper, the G1 Sires’ Produce & G1 Champagne Stakes.
Owned and bred by Newhaven Park, not only is Burst the only filly to have won Sydney’s 2YO Triple Crown, she holds the distinction of being the oldest living Slipper winner and would be in her late eighties in human terms.
Having had 40 career starts under trainer Clarry Conners which resulted in 7 wins and prize money of over $2 million, Burst also went on to raise 11 foals as a broodmare.
She is happy and content living out her days at Newhaven Park, where it all began, and she still looks magnificent.
She holds a special place at the heart of Newhaven Park and we are very proud of her and all she achieved.
