MM Contender Sold by Newhaven

Brisbane, December 13 – The Listed BRC Phelan Ready Stakes at Doomben on Saturday was won in spectacular fashion by exciting I Am Invincible colt Sundance, a $140,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for Blue Sky Bloodstock and his trainer Toby Edmonds.

Narrowly beaten on debut at Doomben last month,Sundance made amends when jumping straight to the front from gate one for Jeff Lloyd.

He controlled the race and bolted clear to win the 1050 metre scamper by nearly five lengths earning his spot in the $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January.

“He might have a trial or a jump-out but he is in the Millions field now so I won’t do too much,” said Edmonds, who trained his sire I Am Invincible in the early part of his career.

Sundance has some interesting line breeding as he is the second winner for Pacific Dreams, a half-sister by Desert Prince (IRE) to the dam of his sire I Am Invincible.

He has a 3 x 2 double cross of Countess Pedrille, the full sister to Group II winner Mamzelle Pedrille and also a close 3 x 3 double cross of champion sire Green Desert.

Sundance was not the only two year-old winner on Saturday sold by Newhaven Park with exciting Snitzel filly Sugarparma kicking off her career with an easy win at the Gold Coast for the John Sargent stable.

An eye-catching trial winner at Randwick last month, she won over 900 metres by half a length as favourite and is among first acceptors for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Bred and sold by Newhaven Park, Sugarparma fetched $120,000 at Magic Millions and is a half-sister to Group III placed Collect from stakes-placed Sweet Ransom.

The current yearling from Sweet Ransom is a filly by Delago Deluxe that has been entered for the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
