The first foal sired by dual Group 1 winning resident sire Mo’Unga (NZ) has arrived at Newhaven Park and the handsome colt is a stunner.
The newcomer was produced by Emphatically, a multiple stakes-placed daughter of Not a Single Doubt hailing from the family of VRC Chester Manifold Stakes (LR) winner Tudor and the AJC Oaks (G1) winner Alcove.
Emphatically is one of 88 mares covered by Mo’Unga in his first stud season when the celebrated son of Savabeel was afforded an outstanding start to his stallion career.
Featuring amongst the high-calibre group of mares Mo’Unga covered in 2024 were the likes of English, Frolic and Lavish Girl, as well as daughters of the Group 1 winners Covertly, Gallic, Grand Archway, Isca, Odeum, Perfect Promise (SAf), Response and Victory Vein.
In addition to the aforementioned, Mo’Unga also served direct descendants of the former distinguished racetrack performers and/or celebrated producers Ballroom Babe (NZ), Bint Marscay, Bravery, Danglissa, Fanfreluche (Can), Hunza (NZ), La Volta, Orwhina, Princess Tracy (Ire), Procrastinate, Soliloquy (NZ), Sommes Sound, Taiona (NZ), Trim Girl (NZ) and Triscay.
Commenting on Instagram in relation to the first pictures of Mo’Unga’s initial foal born at Newhaven Park, farrier Mark Innes remarked: “What a stunning start for Mo’Unga! Huge congrats to the team, this colt is all class already.”
