Exciting Debut Win for Always

January 27 – A half-sister to a pair of star Singapore performers in Zac Spirit and Zac Influence, this blue-blooded Newhaven Park bred filly opened her career with an impressive debut victory at Ballarat on Wednesday.

Prepared at Caulfield by Ciaron Maher, three year-old Manhattan Rain filly Always came with a strong finishing late rush down the outside to win the 1100 metre maiden by a long neck.

Bred and retained to race by Newhaven Park and co-breeder Colin Tidy, Always is the fourth winner for Group II placed Quest for Fame (GB) mare Kidman, a daughter of juvenile stakes-winner Unison, who comes from the family of Group I stars Zeditave, Melito and Greys Inn.

Kidman has no yearling for the sales this year, but produced a filly by Redoute’s Choice last year and was then covered by Exceed and Excel.
